Helpful Employment Advice & Representation
HEAR is a department within Living Hope Church to give you helpful employment advice and to represent you at internal meetings with your employers and even up to hearings at the Employment Tribunal, including appeal hearings subsequent to Tribunal decisions.
HEAR will advise you on:
Your rights and responsibilities as an employee;
How you can prevent dismissal and disciplinary;
How to deal with disciplinary issues, including capability procedures;
How to deal with discrimination at work, including religious, sex, race and disability discrimination at work;
How to deal with bullying and harassment and other forms of workplace mistreatment;
How to assert your rights in relation to training, promotion, salary negotiation, redundancy situation and similar workplace relationships with your employers;
How to deal with stress at work and the duty of care owed to you by your employers, especially, around your health and safety at work;
How to change jobs or move to a new career, including assistance with job hunting, CV preparation, completion of job applications, interview preparation and negotiating fair and commensurate terms and conditions.
The first time you visit HEAR, you will be offered up to one hour, free confidential advice on the employment issues that affect you. A “Welcome” file will be opened for you which will be the starting point of your relationship with HEAR. We promise to try our best to maintain that relationship in a way that gives you the confidence that you need in order to succeed at work.
Subsequent visits to HEAR will be charged at a rate that will be commensurate with the scope of the type of help that you require, and the skills and time that HEAR must devote to your enquiry. You will be advised at your first visit what possible charge your subsequent visit(s) will attract.
Don’t be weighed down and worn out with employment problems when we can HEAR them and assist you in resolving them positively. Don’t wait until matters have escalated at work, the earlier problems are tackled the better. Moreover, there are many preventative measures and precautionary tactics that HEAR can offer you to ensure you stay on top of the problems you may face in the workplace.
