COO-L! stands for Community Outreach Opportunities - Local!
What we do in communities
We are passionate about working with communities in order to transform them through practical Christian mission such as:
Supporting vulnerable groups such as the elderly, the homeless and new residents
Promoting health, healthy living and employment
Encouraging talents in acting, music, art, story-telling, writing, dance, social media, etc.
Enabling social and therapeutic gardening projects, growing vegetables in local allotments, decorating people’s houses, etc.
Dealing with litter, rubbish, graffiti, unkempt gardens, illegal parking, noise nuisance, and other forms of anti-social behaviour.
The Community Outreach Team launched their first community event in February. This two day event, running from Saturday 21st and continuing on Sunday 22nd February, was a night of Romance, Relationships and Restoration. Featuring guest speakers, family photography and mouth watering cocktail refreshments the event turned out to be a fun time of family fellowship.
Families that are built upon strong roots of love and support are what gives Living Hope Church a welcoming atmosphere that makes us not only a Church, but a home. It is for this reason that Living Hope is keen to explore issues that may hinder families from being strong support networks and hopes that the local community may also benefit and be developed from these programmes. This first event, of many this year, marks the beginning of the building of a bridge between the Church community and the local residents in the area.
The COO-L! Team here at Living Hope are buzzing from the success of this event on Saturday 28th March, 2015. The night focused on supporting people that are struggling with addictions, and addressed the ways in which the Church can help.
Doors opened at 6 p.m. for refreshments and then the action was underway as we welcomed our guest speakers. Great testimonies were shared and lives were changed! As a result we are now launching a new project called "Support4Me" which tackle issues relating to addictions. Look our for more news!
This event tackled just one of the many issues which the COO-L! Team plan on addressing to get the community moving onwards and upwards! Look out for more updates about the event and future events coming up this year, We look forward to seeing you!
The COO-L! Team are well underway with this year's events. The next one will be taking place in May and will focus on showcasing the talent in the local area. The programme will be a 2-day event running from Saturday 30th May to Sunday 31st May, 2015.
